About the Artist
A Storyteller with a Camera
Photography isn’t just about seeing—it’s about feeling. I have possessed a good eye for dynamic composition and lighting from a young age. My creative roots trace back to drawing on school binders, taking moody snapshots with my mother's Kodak Instamatic camera, and producing creative films with 8mm and Super 8mm sound cameras in my teens.
This artistic drive is deeply embedded in my DNA, heavily influenced by a highly creative family. I drew massive inspiration from my mother's documentary family photos, my brother's incredible talent as an artist, and my uncles—one of whom has been a prominent Canadian artist since the 1960s. Utilizing the compact agility of the Olympus micro-4/3 system, I focus on conceptual storytelling, often getting up close and personal to capture the true essence of the people and cultures I encounter.
Decades of Professional Experience
My first paid photographic commission came in 1979. For decades, I operated as a dedicated people photographer throughout Ontario (including Toronto, Barrie, Hamilton, Niagara Falls, and beyond). I specialized in documentary wedding photography, professional family portraits, and my signature "Love Story Sessions."
By consciously avoiding tired standards and keeping my imagery fresh, I developed a versatile aesthetic that blended contemporary fashion trends, fine art, and photojournalism. This unique approach garnered the attention of loyal customers who would trust no one else to capture the important memories and emotions of their lives.
The Digital Archive (2026 & Beyond)
As of August 2026, I officially retired from providing commissioned commercial, wedding, family, and portrait services. Today, my passion is entirely focused on documenting vibrant life, architecture, and street scenes across the globe.
Over the past 17 years, I have built a massive body of street and cultural photography while living in Central America (Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Belize), traveling through Mexico and Europe (England, The Netherlands, Belgium), and exploring my local surroundings in Canada.
This website serves as a digital archive for my photo cards, wall art, and stock photography. You can explore the gallery to see my latest work and purchase pieces directly. For a truly immersive experience, scan the QR code on a physical print to dive directly into the story behind the lens.
